Homeward Trust Edmonton is a not-for-profit organization committed to ending homelessness in our city. Our work is driven by community need and priorities as outlined in A Place to Call Home: Edmonton’s Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness. It is our belief that everyone has the right to a home and that our communities are stronger, safer, and more vibrant when homelessness is addressed instead of ignored. We are a fast-paced and values-driven organization made up of people who are dedicated to making the difference.

Homeward Trust is the system planner responsible for coordinating a community-based approach to addressing homelessness. We contract, implement, and coordinate programs, and we provide access to affordable and supportive housing. Our organization also leads local efforts to enhance awareness, evidence, and resources regarding homelessness.

Working at Homeward Trust is exciting and rewarding!

We have an environment where people are empowered, trusted, connected, and passionate about our purpose. We offer competitive salaries, benefits, and a matching RRSP program.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We recognize we are gathered, in collaboration and with joint purpose, on Treaty 6 territory. This territory is the traditional home and gathering place for diverse Indigenous peoples. The nêhiyaw (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Dene, Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux/Ojibwe), Nakota Isga (Nakota Sioux), Inuit, and Métis, among many others cared for this land since time immemorial and continue to steward it today. As visitors in this territory, we honour the importance of the Treaty and our responsibility to these communities. Only in partnership can we create the changes necessary to end homelessness. It is vital we meaningfully engage and partner with Indigenous people and communities in this work while recognizing and addressing the conditions brought forth by colonialism. Displacement from traditional homelands, systemic racism, residential schools, the Sixties Scoop, and the ongoing overrepresentation of Indigenous people in child welfare, correctional systems, and homelessness are responsibilities we all share.
